Location: UNBC Room 6-205/211 Time: 6:30-8:00pm Cost $15.00/athlete Dana is well known for her energy, passion and dedication to helping athletes reach their full potential. As a graduate of the University of British Columbia Dietetics program and the prestigious IOC Sport Nutrition diploma she continues to stay on top of leading edge sport nutrition research. This enables her to finds unique and practical ways to translate science into the every day sport environment. Over the past several years Dana has worked within Canada and abroad with a wide range of high performance sports, including the Vancouver Whitecaps, Vancouver National Swim Center, Canadian Snowboard Federation, Women’s National Soccer Team, Field Hockey Canada, Canadian Cycling Association and numerous Provincial and National athletes. Her involvement in sport dates back to her competitive experiences as a figure skater and more recently as a category 2 road cyclist. When she is not helping others reach their nutritional goals, she can be found in the mountains backcountry skiing or mountaineering. You may also find her cooking for NASA astronauts as a side job! Starting this Fall Dana will be pursuing further studies in the area of nutritional physiology and is eager to further her research knowledge. Sunday September 30th, 2012 – “Mental Training” w/ Performance Consultant Dave Freeze Location: Northern Sport Centre – Wolf Den Room Time: 6:30-8:00pm Cost: $15.00/athlete Dave has over 30 years of experience training, competing and coaching many different levels of sport involving all age groups. He has participated in four world championships, is a four time Ironman, has completed ten marathons, raced in fifteen countries worldwide, and been actively involved in numerous individual and team sports. Dave has a few stories about the times when it all worked out perfectly, and an endless number of hilarious tales of the times when nothing seemed to work at all. Dave’s workshops focus on entertaining and easy to follow theory sessions and the practical application of the material in settings specific to training performing and competition. Dave also works one-on-one with individuals in a coaching setting, helping to create vision, set goals, uncover inefficient behaviour and discover each individual’s secrets for success. Dave has a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavioural Science and spends his time working with athletes, performers and competitive teams to create and pursuit visions of greatness. It has been Dave’s experience working with performers and athletes that the answers and solutions always lay within. He sees his job is to help access the root of the challenges, assist in finding solutions, while providing the necessary support and encouragement to keep forging ahead. He is a patient and enthusiastic mental trainer and counsellor who is committed to results, and loves nothing better than assisting and inspiring others to follow their dreams and ambitions. Dave lives in Kamloops B.C. with his wife and three young children.
