Skate better and you'll play better!

Intro PowerSkate
The Intro PowerSkate program is designed for the skater who wishes to progress to the PowerSkate program. These skaters do not yet meet the criteria (CanSkate Level 5) that is necessary for enrolment in the PowerSkate program.
These skaters are hockey or ringette players who wish to improve their skating in the areas of power, forward and backward skating. These skaters will attend the sessions in full hockey and ringette gear.

Intro PowerSkate is for young skaters, approximately six years of age who can skate and stop that are getting ready for hockey or ringette who may not be ready for PowerSkate Level 1. Intro PowerSkate helps develop basic skating abilities in a power skating-specific environment, including balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills.

Requirements for Intro PowerSkate : Skaters must have passed level 2 CanSkate or been assessed by an NBCCS PowerSkate Coach

PowerSkate
PowerSkate is an action-packed, high energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. PowerSkate provides an alternative to figure skating and is an excellent complement for those athletes playing on hockey or ringette teams. Its unique skill award program provides incentives and motivation for skaters to continue to achieve.
