How Fundraising Supports Northern BC Centre for Skating
At the Northern BC Centre for Skating, fundraising is at the heart of everything we do. Every dollar raised directly supports our skaters, programs, and the future of skating in our community.
Making Skating Accessible to All
Skating is a sport that inspires confidence, discipline, and joy—but it can also come with significant costs. Fundraising allows us to keep program fees affordable, ensuring that children and families from all backgrounds have the opportunity to participate in our Learn to Skate, CanSkate, PowerSkating, and Figure Skating programs.
Supporting Our Athletes’ Dreams
From first steps on the ice to competitions, our skaters benefit from expert coaching, training camps, and specialized workshops. Fundraising helps us bring in guest coaches, provide additional ice time, and support travel costs for athletes competing at higher levels.
Investing in Equipment and Facilities
High-quality training requires safe, well-maintained facilities and specialized equipment. Fundraising enables us to invest in essential items such as harness systems, jump equipment, off-ice training tools, and updated music and timing systems for competitions and practices.
Building a Strong Skating Community
Our fundraising efforts strengthen more than just our club—they build community. Events like raffles, auctions, and community skate-a-thons bring families together, foster lifelong friendships, and create a sense of pride and belonging among skaters, parents, and supporters.
Thank You for Your Support
None of this would be possible without the incredible support from our community, sponsors, and volunteers. Every contribution, big or small, makes a lasting impact on the lives of our skaters and the future of skating in Northern BC.
